Circle City Crackdown

Dothan Police Department revealed names and the bounty from a drug investigation named Circle City Crackdown.

$7,400 worth of drugs and $850 cash were on display at a press conference Friday morning.

The police department has made 23 arrests.

The operation focuses mainly on narcotic drug investigations.

Dothan Police Chief John Powell says not all of the arrests and evidence are directly connected, but on a large scale all local narcotics activity intersects.

“I would say it's widespread inside the City of Dothan, in the county as well as across the country narcotics is something that has permeated our society, and we have to work to get them off the streets.”

The police are looking for 20-year old Anthony Smith of Citadel Avenue and 20-year old Cordero Kirkland of Appletree Street in connection with the investigation.

If you have any information they ask you contact Crimestoppers at 793-7000.

There will always be a drug problem. Especially when the fines are not high enough and they bail out of jail or flee state to contine on someplace else. I personally think the law enforcement should be looking "inside" the clubs of Dothan. Clubs spell trouble. People leave drunk all the time, drive drunk, and always look for the next best thing no matter what that may be. Some of the younger officers call their girlfriends and our spouses and tell them where "not" to drive for car checks. I know that for a fact. One of the girls at a ladies only party was notified last weekend not to drive down park and little (something another) because he knew she was drinking and the city of Dothan police dept was doing car stop checks. HE tipped her off and she tipped all of her friends off. That's not right either!
