The city of Dothan’s civil service committee could be one step closer to finding out their fate.
City officials have been debating on whether the 60 year old panel, which handles general guidelines for the city's personnel department, should continue.
Volunteers on the board say yes.
Members from the city commission, personnel board, and civil service committee met to recommended changes to the act that could eventually go to the state legislature.
Committee Chairman Mike Tew will take the recommendations to all committee members next Thursday.
If, approved, the proposals will then go to the city commission.
