A former Fort Rucker historian wrote a book on the importance of army aviation history, and it was published just in time for Fort Rucker's 50th anniversary celebration.
The more than 400 page book titled, "A History of Army Aviation" was presented to Fort Rucker's Brigadier General, E.J. Sinclair Tuesday morning.
The books author, Dr. James Williams, reflects on key events from the inception of army aviation during the Civil War through the present day war on terror.
The author took two years to write the book and it can be found in Fort Rucker's Army Aviation Museum gift shop.
