A Mobile disaster recovery center is open in Eufaula to serve residents and evacuees.

Many evacuees are happy to finally get to talk personally with a FEMA representative.

Willie Johnson is picking up food for his family.

He evacuated mobile three weeks ago and has been staying at FEMA’s campground in Eufaula.

Now for the first time he's talking to FEMA representatives face to face.

FEMA is helping evacuees organize permanent housing, get in touch with family members, and file for more money.

Talana Johnson already filed with FEMA, she just needed to pick up some food and talk with FEMA officials about her New Orleans house inspections.

The food bank comes every Tuesday and Thursday to pass out food to the evacuees.

Hubert Harrison has been volunteering since Hurricane Katrina.

But now many evacuees are hopeful they will have something also now that FEMA officials are here.

FEMA plans on being in Eufaula through this Saturday at 6 p.m.
