Reward is Offered in Houston County Murder Case

A reward is being offered to help solve a Houston County murder case.

The body of 69-year-old Joe Tex Johnson was found in his home on Courtney Lane around noon Tuesday.

He had been shot to death.

Sheriff Andy Hughes says the home was burglarized earlier this month and a rifle was stolen along with some other items.

Investigators are running down leads in both cases.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about Johnson’s death.

Anyone with information about the crime should call Crimestoppers at 793-7000.
