Eastern sheet metal is coming to Dothan. The announcement was made Friday afternoon.
Bill Stout, Jr., the company's president, said Dothan will serve as his company's southeast location for manufacturing of ductwork. The company is expected to make a $6.2 million investment in Dothan and hire a workforce of 85 in the coming months.
Stout said the plan is to have the plant operational by the end of the first quarter of 2003.
Eastern Sheet Metal will initially have its administration sales, and engineering functions handled by its Cincinnati, Ohio office. Stout explained that the facility would serve the entire United States for component parts and the state of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and east Texas for engineered systems.
He said he anticipated the Dothan facility would assume engineering responsibility over time, possibly within 18 months.
