An Amtrak passenger train has derailed in North Carolina after hitting a dump truck loaded with gravel.
Raleigh police say two people in the truck were killed. No serious injuries are reported among the 200 passengers on the train.
Officials say the collision knocked the engine and the two lead cars off the tracks, and upended the dump truck. They say a "small amount" of diesel fuel spilled.
The northbound train, the Carolinian, was traveling from Charlotte to New York.
About half a dozen passengers were taken to a hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.
