Dothan-voice.com along with the Home Oil Company sponsored a car wash to raise money to help two Dothan police officers who were shot on duty two weeks ago.

The benefit brought in more than $1,500 dollars to be split between officers Arthur Schaefer and Walter Handley.

The two men were shot during an attempted armed robbery at the Hobo Pantry on 2808 Main Street in Dothan on March 28th.

The car wash was held at the scene of the crime.

Members of the Southeast Alabama Fraternal order of police helped out to show their support for their brothers who were wounded.

If you would like to make a donation, there is a trust fund for the officers at People’s Bank.
