Three Arrested After Geneva Business Break-ins

Geneva Police have made three arrests in regard to a string of business break-ins' and burglaries that occurred last weekend.

It appears that a close cooperation between Geneva Police and the Geneva County Sheriff's Department led to the flow of critical information.

Geneva Police say the three suspects broke into or simply vandalized a total of 10 Geneva businesses.

They are Jarett Patterson, Kevin Kynard, and Gary Gilley.

Authorities say the trio went on a "smash and grab" spree over a 48-hour period last weekend.

They face a host of burglary related charges.

Authorities say the suspects were motivated to feed a drug habit.

A traffic stop by Geneva Police led to the exchange of information with the county.

Within a short time, several stolen items were recovered.

Capt. Ricky Morgan, with the Geneva Police Dept. said, "It appears that the suspects were drinking and using illegal narcotics. It appears to have led them to go on a crime spree if you will or as we describe it, as a ‘smash and grab’."

The suspects range in age from 20-to-27.

All have been booked into the Geneva County Jail awaiting their first appearance in court.

We are told that a few break-ins last weekend in the Hartford area appear unrelated to these suspects.
