Samson School Gun

Around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, Judy Hudson reportedly surrenders her handgun at her parents home several miles outside of Samson. Shortly before that, authorities say the sixth-grade teacher at Samson Elementary got into an argument in the parking lot of Samson High School. She was talking with principal, Yvette Ryals, when Mrs. Hudson reportedly pulled out the gun and threatened to kill herself.

Sherry Davis has a child in Mrs. Hudson's class, she's now in fear for the safety of her son, and his classmates.

Geneva County school Supt. David Snell, says Mrs. Hudson has been suspended and an investigation will get underway.

Mrs. Hudson will not be allowed back in the classroom pending the investigation...
She's been transported to a Dothan area health care facility for evaluation, and treatment.

Supt. Snell says the school board's gun free environment will be upheld.

Violators are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 and imprisonment for not more than five years, or both.
