Two suspects accused in a series of armed robberies in Alabama and Georgia have been indicted by a Houston County grand jury. And one of the men also faces sex charges.
Police said 21-year-old Joseph McNeal and 22-year-old Antony Screws could be responsible for more than 20 holdups in eight cities over a two-month period.
Two Eufaula men were arrested in October after investigators linked them to robberies at three Dothan motels and a video rental store.
Both men are charged with four counts of armed robbery, but McNeal has also been indicted on two counts of sexual abuse for allegedly fondling female clerks during one of the crimes.
McNeal’s bond has been set at $600,000. Screws is being held on a $400,000 bond.
A trial date has not been set.
