The nation's first Vioxx trial resumes in Texas today.
An expert for the drug's maker Merck, takes the stand again. Yesterday she testified that an in-house training game nicknamed "Dodge Ball" was not about learning to dodge doctors' questions on drug safety.
In the case, the widow of a man who took the pain reliever for about eight months alleges Vioxx caused his death. She says Merck knew the drug was dangerous years before pulling it off the market last September.
Merck says it acted responsibly, disclosed research and voluntarily took the drug off the market when that research showed double the risk of a heart attack in people who took it for a year-and-a-half or more.
