Two hip-hop deejays have been suspended by a St. Louis radio station after an on-air discussion of ways to fight police officers.
Officials at KATZ FM won't detail the comments made by the personalities who calls themselves DJ Kaos and DJ Sylli Asz but say their remarks Wednesday related to ways of hurting or disarming police officers, including how to get officers' radios to keep them from calling for help. The comments came only days after the fatal shooting of police officer William McEntee in suburban St. Louis.
The station's general manager says the remarks were inappropriate. Both disc jockeys have apologized.
St. Louis Police Chief Joe Mokwa calls the on-air conversation "outrageous" and says nobody wants to hear someone making fun out of disarming a police officer.
