A Houston County man is scheduled to stand trial for manslaughter later this month. 62-year-old Perry Blankenship is charged in connection with a deadly traffic accident.
The wreck happened on Highway 52 in Webb in October of last year. Workers were re-surfacing the road-bed. Prosecutors will try to prove that Blankenship was driving a car that slammed into a van that had stopped in a construction zone. 17-year-old Brandon McCoy of Webb was killed in the wreck.
Blankenship’s trial is scheduled to begin August 25th. In the meantime, he is free on a $40,000 bond.
