Residents in Seminole County, Georgia had a reason to celebrate Saturday afternoon. The Seminole County Recreation Complex opened its gates to the public.
It took a year and a half to build, and consists of five baseball fields and two football/soccer fields.
Little league teams and girls softball teams will be playing on the field.
Dothan Architect Joe Donofro and his firm donated plans to the park, while the community volunteered services for its construction.
Throwing out the first pitch was Project Manager Herman Brookins’, who says it’s the kids who will benefit most from the development. “This will be the center of our community. It’s a small community, but it will be the center. We hope to have Relay for Life here, things like that."
The park is already in full use with family activities.
