PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A 27-year-old Georgia man is dead after he drowned in the waters off of Pensacola Beach.
Officials have not released the name of the Athens, Georgia, man, who died Saturday afternoon while swimming with friends. He was not breathing when a lifeguard pulled him from the ocean.
The man was taken to Gulf Breeze Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officials say he is the first drowning at that beach in three years.
