Doster Pleads Guilty

31-year-old Oscar Roy Doster of Andalusia is facing a capital murder trial for the November 2002 homicide of a Gantt man and possibly stands to be indicted on another capital murder charge stemming from a homicide this April in Freestone County, Texas.

Officials say Doster plead guilty to several property crimes that he committed following his 2001 escape from the jail.

He also plead guilty to escaping from the county jail this spring, making the act a second occurrence on his part.

The court sentenced Doster to life imprisonment on each count of guilty pleas.

He will be eligible for parole in ten years, but officials say since he plead to nothing but property and escape crimes, he could be categorized as a non violent felon and considered for early release.
