Canadian Woman Convicted in Panhandle Murder Case

PANAMA CITY, FL - A jury convicted a woman of second-degree murder June 17th for helping her former lover fatally bludgeon her husband, a Canadian air force officer stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Monique Turenne shook her head as the guilty verdict was read. The jury deliberated for about three hours. She could face a maximum sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Police say her husband's body was found in his front yard in 1996. He was laying face down in his own blood, beaten to death likely with a hammer.

A sentencing hearing is set for August 2nd.
