Two Plead Guilty in Wal-Mart Scam

Two men from Tennessee have pleaded guilty to federal fraud and conspiracy charges in a scam against Wal-Mart that covered six states.

One man -- and an accomplice who is expected to plead guilty next week -- stole gift cards from the discount retailer. Authorities said they racked up about $35,000 in purchases before they were caught.

Federal authorities said they targeted dozens of Wal-Marts in Alabama, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Georgia.

Authorities said the stores always were near interstate highways for easy getaways.

They were finally arrested after an employee at a store in the town of Salem, Illinois, phoned police.

They are from Nashville, Tennessee.
