Country Crossing casino developer Ronnie Gilley is scheduled for sentencing in Montgomery, along with two others who pleaded guilty in Alabama's gambling corruption investigation.
U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson set the sentencing Monday for Gilley, his lobbyist, Jarrod Massey, and former state Rep. Terry Spicer of Elba. Gilley and Massey pleaded guilty to conspiracy and bribery charges involving offering millions to legislators to support pro-gambling legislation. Spicer admitted taking bribes from Gilley and Massey while a legislator.
Prosecutors are recommending about 11 years in prison for Gilley and Massey and about five for Spicer.
The fourth person who pleaded guilty, lobbyist Jennifer Pouncy, will be sentenced in August.
Nine others were charged in the wide-ranging investigation, including casino owner Milton McGregor, but no one was convicted.
