ENTERPRISE-- For the competitors in the final round of the mud racing competition, nothing is better than that exciting feeling of going on to the last round.
"Well, we'll just say I've never been this excited. I'm trying to keep it together!"
"Oh, I'm very excited! I've never made it this far in a competition and I'm glad."
"I'm so happy I couldn't explain it to be honest with you. I'm fired up!"
Ronnie Gilley says this event has been on his mind a lot lately, along with other things
"We've been planning a mud bog competition for probably about two months. We had anticipated doing it a couple of months later, but as we all know I've got a pretty big day in front of me tomorrow. So we wanted to introduce Bama Bog to the world, you know, prior to that."
And even though his sentencing hearing is tomorrow, he wants to put a positive spin on his plans for the future of BamaJam Farms.
"And that just synergizes with everything else that we're doing here with the water park, the entertainment venue. And really and truly if within the next few years, if given the opportunity, we will truly be the country's greatest and premier outdoor entertainment venue. And I look forward to being a part of that. Hopefully I'll be able to."
More than anything, he emphasizes that this project is more than just a money making business. It's a chance to grow the economy in the wiregrass.
"It's something for the whole family to come out and enjoy. There's no controversy associated with it, just good old fashion family county fun."
And we could all use a little more of that.
