Man Arrested after Shooting in Covington County

UPDATE---July 5th
The bond amounts for Bobby John Nixon is as follows:

Shooting Into Occupied Vehicle - $100,000.00

Attempted Murder 2 counts - $1,000,000.00

Total Bond is $1,100,00.00

At approximately 10:00p.m. July 3rd 2012 Covington County Deputies were dispatched to the Andalusia Hosp.E.R where a victim of a gunshot was being held.

Deputies determined that the shooting had taken place on Pigeon Creek Rd, which is north of Red Level.

The victim was shot with what appeared to be a small caliber weapon. LifeFlight later transferred her to a Pensacola Fl hosp.

The suspect, Bobby John Nixon, 27- year- old white male, of Welcome Church Rd. was apprehended at approximately 7:30 a.m. at his residence.

The Covington County Incident Response Team was deployed due to the fact that there was a weapon involved and the residence was very rural.

The suspect was charged with one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle and two counts of attempted murder.

It's unknown at this time what amount the bonds will be set. This incident is still under investigation.

Sheriff Dennis Meeks would like to thank the members of the IRT, the Deputies and Sheriff’s Reserve members who were at the incident for a job well done.

There is no mug shot to be released at this time, one will be sent out later.
