Pike County is holding a committee meeting tonight to consider implementing a fire-protection service fee for the rural areas of the county.
The fee would be 30 dollar per residence and 75 dollars per business.
The fee would not affect the City of Troy.
After discussion at the committee meeting, it will possibly be sent to the state legislature for approval to be placed on the November election ballot for the Pike County citizens to vote on.
