MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Forecasters urge Alabamians to monitor weather conditions.
A large storm system fed by Gulf moisture is moving across Alabama this morning in front of an approaching cold front. The system has spawned severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, strong gusty winds and hail. Isolated tornadoes also are possible.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for much of Alabama until noon. Forecasters have also issued a lake wind advisory for dozens of counties until 8 p.m. this evening.
Residents are urged to monitor their weather radios or other media outlets for the latest weather watches or warnings.
