Jury Selection Begins in Infant Death Case

Jury selection began Monday in the capital murder trial of a Dothan man charged with killing his infant son.

42-year-old Tony Dent was declared competent to stand trial last year.

Prosecutors say he intentionally caused the death of five-month-old Christopher Dent in April of 2006.

Investigators say Dent took his baby to a hospital claiming the child had breathing problems.

The boy actually had a brain injury.

Investigators say Dent caused the injury by throwing his son against a couch.

If convicted, Dent could face the death penalty.
