Tate's Second Arrest

Lionel Tate, the youngest person in modern U-S history to be sentenced to life in prison, is accused of confronting a pizza delivery man with a gun in Pembroke Park.

The 18-year-old is being held at the Broward County Jail on charges of armed robbery, armed burglary with battery and a probation violation. If proven, possession of a gun alone would be enough to produce a violation of probation.

The delivery man says Tate pointed a gun at him when he arrived with an order.

It is Tate's second arrest since he was released more than a year ago. He successfully appealed his first-degree murder conviction and is serving 15 years probation on a guilty plea to second-degree murder.

Tate killed a six-year-old family friend when he was 12. He initially said he was practicing wrestling moves seen on TV. Experts testified at his trial that Tiffany Eunick's internal injuries were consistent with an extensive beating.
