A standoff between law enforcement and a woman ended peaceably in Florida early Thursday morning.
The Bay County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the home of 46-year-old Martha Adkins after family members said the woman had threatened to kill herself.
Adkins allegedly fired several shots through the wall of the house during a five hour stand-off before members of a SWAT team used tear gas to get inside and take the woman in custody without further incident.
Adkins was charged with two counts of assaulting an officer and booked in the Bay County Jail.
