A sheriff in Idaho where two children are missing says he believes they are alive.
The nine-year-old boy and his eight-year-old sister are missing from a home where the bodies of three people were found Monday. The mother of the children and their brother were among those killed.
Thursday, a man wanted for questioning in the killings was ruled out as a suspect.
Also Thursday, the father of the children, Steve Groene, pleaded in a televised statement for those holding his kids to return the children safely.
The sheriff of the town has told a newspaper (The Spokesman-Review) that he has "got to believe they're alive."
Authorities say nearly $70,000 has been contributed to a reward fund.
