Plan to Extend Murphy Mill Road Rejected

The Dothan City Commission voted four to three against adding $100,000 dollars to a project to connect Murphy Mill Road and Flynn Road near Northside Wal-Mart.

The original agreement between the city and developers involved around a $450,000 commitment from both parties, but after Tuesday night's vote, the fate of the road is in the air.

City officials could not comment on the future of construction, but they agree it would alleviate traffic problems in the area.

While the future of Murphy Mill Road remains in the air, on Tuesday, the city did approve a $1 million dollar plan to resurface 14 miles of roads in Dothan.
