Panama City Police Arrest Woman in Elderly Neglect Case

A round-the-clock caregiver is arrested, accused of abusing an elderly person since August of last year.

47-year-old Laura Palmer of Panama City is charged with neglect of the elderly.

Authorities say Palmer left her elderly victim alone for long periods of time without feeding them adequately.

She also is accused of not bathing the victim regularly and stealing hydro-codine pills.

Palmer even reportedly wore earplugs when she slept so the victim's cries of pain would not wake her up.

Authorities say hospice workers noticed the signs of neglect and alerted them.

Palmer is being held in the Bay County Jail.

It takes a COLD HEARTED PERSON to treat the elderly in such a way . This person should be put away for along time so she will never do this to some one else.
