A rabid raccoon has been found in the Babbie Community near Opp, Alabama.
According to the Covington County Health Department, a rabid raccoon that came into contact with two dogs tested positive for rabies.
Because the dogs were up to date on their vaccinations they will only need to be revaccinated and remain in the owner's care for 45 days.
This is the first recorded case of rabies in Covington County this year.
