President Bush headed for Prague Tuesday morning and a summit with NATO leaders. Bush is expected to try to line up support for his showdown with Saddam Hussein. In a pre-summit interview, Bush said NATO "understands this issue."
The White House said the return of weapons inspectors to Baghdad is "another step" toward disarming the Iraqi regime.
A White House spokesman said Iraq has committed another "material breach" of UN mandates -- by firing on Allied airplanes in the northern no-fly zone Monday.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said the U.S. is holding off on going to the Security Council to debate military action in Iraq despite anti-aircraft fire on American and British warplanes over the "no-fly" zones. Rumsfeld said the anti-aircraft attacks are "unacceptable"
UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said he's urging Saddam Hussein to comply with weapons inspectors who have arrived in Baghdad. Annan said he wants the Iraqi president to "comply fully for the sake of his people." And he said the whole world order is at stake.
