Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee says a registered sex offender has confessed to killing a 13-year-old girl who was last seen April 9th after a church trip.
David Onstott is charged with first-degree murder. Sheriff Gee says Onstott confessed yesterday, after a body authorities believe to be Sarah Lunde's was found in a pond near her house.
Gee says Sarah let Onstott into her house when he came looking for her mother in the predawn hours on April 10th. Gee says Onstott argued with Sarah, put her in a choke hold and killed her.
Onstott is a convicted rapist who once dated the girl's mother. He has been held without bail in the Hillsborough County Jail since Tuesday on unrelated charges.
Sarah's relatives and friends mourned her today at the girl's Tampa Bay area church, where she almost never missed Sunday morning services.
