Mother of Dog Bite Victim Questions Leash Laws

For two months, one Geneva County mother has sat beside her daughter's hospital bed as she continues to recover from a vicious mauling by five dogs.

Sylvia Carver came to the Geneva County commission meeting Monday night to express her feeling that a leash law and animal shelter are needed in Geneva County.

She says it is important to act and not keep talking about reasons it cannot happen.

"I don't want to see another child hurt like Mariah was hurt. Doctors said Mariah shouldn't even here right now. No parent should have to go through what we are going through. No parent no child, no person," says Carver.

Mariah will be returning to school this Friday for a rally at 10 o'clock.

The boys who helped save her will be honored at the event.
