Dothan K-9 Training Seminar

Monday was the start of the Dothan Police Department's 12th annual K-9 training seminar.

About 30 agencies from the southeast registered their dogs for a week long refresher program to keep their skills sharp.

Aside from searching techniques, the dogs are also conditioned with new obedience and apprehension skills.

The K-9s are an important tool in law enforcement, and lot of effort goes into caretaking.

Not just any dog has what it takes to be a police dog.

Generally, law enforcement dogs are shipped to the states from Europe- where dogs are bred to be working.
