Dozens of people gathered at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta Sunday to remember the Reverend Martin Luther King Junior, who died 37 years ago today.
U.S. Congressman John Lewis, a native of Pike County, Alabama, spoke to the audience and recalled his ten-year relationship with King. Lewis was one of King's top aides.
A multiracial audience of young and old listened to excerpts of King's speeches and organizers urged the ceremony attendees to remember King's life as well as his death, and to celebrate his enduring legacy.
