Family Disputes Charges

The family of a man charged in the shooting death of a teenager earlier this month is disputing those charges.

On January 8th, 15-year-old Daniel McKinnon was shot by 22-year-old Joshua Jones while sitting in the backseat of a vehicle in a Dothan neighborhood.

At a news conference Wednesday morning Jones' mother claims her son never got out of his truck and never blatantly pointed his gun at anyone.

She says the families confused as to why criminal charges have been brought against her son.

Jones’ attorney is asking anyone with more information about the shooting to come forward.

Why was Jones, a 22 yr old adult man, fooling with a loaded gun in the presence of young teens. Jones is an irresponsible adult who should do hard prison time for his irresponsible stupidity.
