A controversial proposed animal ordinance took center stage at a public forum Tuesday night in Dothan.
Its estimated more than 300 residents attended.
Many spoke out about the labeling of certain breeds as dangerous and measures those pet owners would have to take such as muzzling their dog in public.
Other residents were worried about their own rights being violated and the contention that police could come on to their property while pursuing a dog.
Mayor Pat Thomas emphasized the ordinance is just a starting point.
It's not expected to be on a commission agenda anytime soon.
