EOCC President Announces His Retirement

A longtime educator in the Wiregrass will officially retire next summer.

This week Enterprise-Ozark Community College president, Dr. Stafford Thompson, participated in homecoming events.

Dr. Thompson will step down after 14 years at the helm.

Last week he submitted his retirement plans to the state school board in Montgomery.

The board is expected to accept Dr. Thompson's retirement at its January 24th meeting.

Dr. Thompson has been in education for more than 40-years.

Alabama's Postsecondary of Education chancellor plans between now and July to consider an appropriate candidate for interim president.
