ATLANTA (AP) - An 11-year-old boy remains hospitalized after being shot in the stomach in south Atlanta by a group of children who had a gun.
Atlanta Police spokesman James Polite says the boy was inside a home (in the 1600 block of Oak Knoll Circle) with several other children about 8 p.m. yesterday.
He says police know several children were in the home unsupervised by adults. The children ranged in age from 11 to 13.
Paramedics rushed the boy to the hospital. Police later found the boy's mother.
Police are still investigating who fired the gun, whether the boy lives in the home and why the children were unsupervised.
Officers have seized the gun to determine if it is stolen.
