PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Escambia County, Florida, will soon start clearing waterways of boats that were unclaimed after the 2004 hurricane season.
County officials say many boat owners bought the vessels cheaply, but couldn't keep pay for expensive repairs.
Nearly 30 boats are sunk, floating or abandoned on the county's waterways. The county has been awarded a $100,000 state grant to clear the boats.
