A Houston County man convicted of capital murder has been sentenced to the death penalty.
Tuesday afternoon, 23-year-old David Phillip Wilson was sentenced to death by lethal injection by circuit Judge Edward Jackson.
He was convicted last month of killing 64-year-old Dewey Walker in April of 2004.
Prosecutors say Wilson beat and strangled walker so he could steal the man's van and the expensive sound system in it.
Wilson will immediately be transported to the Department of Corrections where he will await the death penalty.
