Truck Driver Could Face Charges in Fatal 18-Wheeler Crash

TROY, Ala. (AP) - Police say a Troy truck driver could face criminal charges for allegedly causing last month's fiery crash on Highway 231 that killed a Florida truck driver.

Authorities said preliminary evidence indicated 26-year-old Dusty Lee Scott Conner failed to yield the right of way in the December 19th wreck in Troy.

56-year-old Deborah Ann Fields of DeFuniak Springs died when the 18-wheeler she was driving exploded into flames after crashing into the rear of Conner's log truck.

Troy Police spokesman, Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, said a grand jury could determine whether Conner would be charged.

I would like to thank you for the well done coverage you have done on my mothers accident. First just because it was a semi driver it was assumed she was a man and you have cleared that up and the facts as they are uncovered. I would just like to thank you for the excellent coverage and a good job you are doing.
