A man whose wife and three daughters died in the La Conchita, California, mudslide says he is mourning the loss of what he calls his "beautiful babies."
Wallett dug for hours in the rain around where he thought his family might be. He helped rescue two people before his wait finally ended yesterday.
His wife was the first to be found, followed by three of his daughters over the following hours.
A distraught Wallet returned to La Conchita last night even after his family was recovered, saying he wanted to continue helping with the search. He was turned away by officers who said they feared for his safety. Later, all those reported missing were finally accounted for.
Ten people died in the mudslide -- four of whom were members of the Wallet family.
