A witness says Robert Blake's screams the night his wife was killed "didn't sound fake" but that he seemed to be "turning it on and off."
Carol Caputo was one of the first witnesses at the murder trial of the star of the old "Baretta" TV series.
Another witness, Sean Stanek, imitated Blake's guttural sobs as the actor awaited for a paramedic to help Bonny Lee Bakley (BAYK'-lee), who died from a gunshot wound to the head. Stanek said there "weren't any tears."
The jury also got to hear Blake's own words during his lawyer's opening statement. The attorney played a videotape of Blake's jailhouse interview with Barbara Walters. In it, Blake said he was trying to work out a troubled marriage with Bakley for the good of their young daughter.
There will be more testimony today.
