Michael Jackson

A jury has been seated to hear the child molestation case against pop star Michael Jackson.

Well ahead of the expected pace, Judge Rodney Melville announced the selection of the panel this morning.

The jury includes four men and eight women, ranging in age from 20 to 79. The racial and ethnic breakdown appears to be: seven whites, four Hispanics and one Asian.

After the jury was sworn in, attorneys then moved on to the selection of eight alternates.

The 46-year-old singer is accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy, plying him with alcohol, and conspiring to hold him and his family captive at his Neverland Ranch.
