Headland Police and the family of a young girl are breathing a sigh of relief after putting a suspected rapist behind bars.
On December 13th, 18- year-old Andrevis Deaon Davis allegedly broke into a Headland home and then raped a young girl.
Officials say Davis broke into the home through the backdoor and was armed with a hammer.
Two other young children were also in the home at the time but were not sexually assaulted.
Headland Police Chief Mark Jones says with the help of Crimestoppers and a positive identification from the victim Davis turned himself in Monday.
He is currently in the Henry County Jail with bonds totaling 190,000 dollars and faces charges of first degree burglary, rape and sodomy.
Officials say the court date has yet to be set.
