Eufaula Businessman Dies

A Eufaula fishing champion and businessman died last night in Birmingham, following his second open-heart surgery.

William Thomas Mann achieved fame as a fishing lure designer and manufacturer. With only five dollard, he and his wife started "Mann's Bait Company" in 1958, and ended up selling the multi-million dollar business in 1979.

Mann competed in multiple Bass Tournaments and hosted his own fishing show that was broadcast on several channels including ESPN, TNN, and the Outdoor Channel.

He was 72-years-old.
