Alabama State Troopers across the nation are trying to raise awareness of child restraint laws. On Sunday, they kicked-off their annual Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week.
Troopers will be setting up numerous check points this week, especially around school zones and rural areas. They will be issuing tickets to all violators. Troopers recommend when purchasing a car seat for your child, you carefully read the sticker on it because not every car seat can properly be installed in all vehicles.
Troopers say that people never understand the importance of a safety seat until they have been in an accident where a child has been hurt.
The National Safety campaign will go on through February 19th.
