State NAACP President Out of Hospital After Injuries in Car Wreck

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - The state president of the NAACP has been released from the hospital after suffering severe burns in a multiple-car wreck near Mobile.

The civil rights organization announced Tuesday that Edward Vaughn is continuing his recovery at his home in Dothan.

The 73-year-old Vaughn was hospitalized a month ago after suffering extensive burns in a fiery five-vehicle wreck.

Two others in the car with him also were injured. One remains hospitalized.
